Qualification Entry Requirements

EPICURE SKILLS TRAINING has the following entry requirements. You must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age at commencement of course;
  • Have completed Australian year 12 or equivalent or successfully completed AQF Certificate III qualification or above;
  • Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs;
  • Meet Australian student visa subclass 500 requirements;
  • Have an IELTS* score of 5.5 (test results must be no more than 2 years old).

English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:

  • Educated for at least 5 years in an English-speaking country where the medium of instructions was in English; or
  • Completed at least a Certificate IV level course in an Australian RTO within the last 2 years.

    *Note that other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted. Students are required to provide their results so that Daffodil College can confirm they are equivalent to IELTS 5.5.

EPICURE Training and Assessment Requirements

The construction industry emphasizes the importance of training and assessment in a real or highly simulated workplace environment. To fulfill the requirements of this qualification, candidates must have access to an active building and construction site. This is essential to meet the assessment criteria of the core unit CPCCBC4008, which focuses on supervising communication and administration processes for building and construction projects.

  • The minimum requirement falls between 6.0 for undergraduate courses and 6.5 for post-graduate courses.

Induction and Safety Requirements

All individuals intending to perform construction work must complete the general construction induction training program, as specified by the model Code of Practice for Construction Work. Successfully achieving the unit CPCCWHS1001 (Prepare to work safely in the construction industry) fulfills this requirement.

Entry Requirements

Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 18 years old when starting the course. 

Educational Qualifications: 

  • Completion of Australian Year 12 or an equivalent qualification, or 
  • Successful completion of an AQF Certificate III or higher.  

English Language Proficiency: 

  • A minimum IELTS score of 6.0, with results not older than 2 years. Alternatively, English proficiency can be demonstrated by: 
  • Having completed at least 5 years of education in an English-speaking country where English was the medium of instruction, or 
  • Successfully completing a Certificate IV or higher-level course at an Australian Registered Training Organization (RTO) within the last 2 years. 
  • All students must undergo a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment before commencing the course.

Note: Other English proficiency tests like PTE are acceptable; however, students must provide results equivalent to IELTS 6.0.

Delivery and Assessment

Mode of delivery: The class will be delivered 15 hours face-to-face in a classroom and 5 hours online setting on a full-time basis. Additionally, students will have access to simulated work environments to enhance their learning experience.

Assessment Methods:
Utilizes a variety of approaches, including projects with role-plays, presentations, reports, portfolios, case studies, and short answer questions. 

  • Simulated Workplace Environment: Designed to replicate real-world workplace conditions and scenarios. 
  • RealLife Task Structure: Assessment tasks are modeled after actual work activities and must be completed within industry-standard timeframes as determined by assessors.
  • Quality and Safety Standards: Tasks are evaluated based on industry-specific quality benchmarks and adherence to relevant safety protocols.
  • Use of Authentic Documentation: Students will engage with genuine workplace documents to enhance realism and relevance.
  • Team Collaboration: Emphasis on working effectively as part of a team to reflect professional dynamics. 
  • Task Management Skills: Students are expected to demonstrate effective planning and prioritization of competing tasks.
  • Standard Workplace Equipment: Tasks require the use of standard workplace tools, such as computers and industry-specific software. 
  • Practical Constraints Consideration: Assessments incorporate real-world limitations, including time and budget constraints, to mirror professional environments. 

Packaging Rules

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in:

27 units of competency:
24 core units
3 elective units
a maximum of one unit may be from any training package or accredited course as long as it
ensures the integrity of the qualification’s Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) alignment
and contributes to a valid, industry supported vocational outcome.

Certificate Issuance

A Certificate is issued where all 36 units have been deemed competent. A Statement of Attainment is issued when only some units are deemed competent and the course is not completed in full.

Issuing of your Certificate and or Statement of Attainment occurs within 30 days of your last unit being deemed competent, however, this may be delayed in the event that you have not provided your Unique Student Identifier (USI) or you have any outstanding fees.
